The Turlock Police Department arrested a man on burglary charges after a resident saw him entering a back yard.

Around 2:30 p.m. Thursday the police department received a call from a resident reporting a man had just been seen going into the back yard of a home in the 600 block of Flower Street.

Officers arrived just in time to nab the suspect as he was leaving, according to the police report.

The suspect was identified as Matthew Rigney, 24. He was arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of heroin.
