A search of a stolen auto in Turlock led law enforcement to three weapons and a stash of marijuana and methamphetamine.

The stop of the stolen vehicle led to the arrest of Chris Olsen, 36, of Emigrant Gap.

On Monday afternoon agents with the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force spotted a 1988 Acura Integra that had been reported stolen out of Gold Run. StanCATT agents followed the stolen vehicle from Monte Vista Avenue and University Circle in Turlock to a shopping center in the 500 block of N. Golden State Boulevard, where it was pulled over by officers from the Turlock Police Department.

StanCATT was able to detain the subject in handcuffs without incident. During a search, StanCATT located a loaded .380 Ruger concealed in Olsen’s waistband.

During a search of the vehicle, a loaded Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun and a Weatherby rifle were located. Also located inside the car was approximately two pounds of marijuana and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Olsen was arrested on suspicion of auto theft, possession of a firearm by an addict, and possession of a firearm while possessing narcotics.
