A 29-year-old was arrested Jan. 27 after he was allegedly caught masturbating in his vehicle by a Turlock Police officer.

Anjelo Kanef was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure, resisting arrest, and possession of methamphetamine, said Turlock Police spokesman Officer Steve Rodrigues.

The incident was reported to the Turlock Police Department around 10:15 a.m. Jan. 27 by a woman who said she saw a man masturbating in his car while parked in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart grocery store at 2480 Geer Rd. The woman told dispatch the man had yelled something at her, which is why she saw him in the first place.

An officer responded to the parking lot and while approaching the vehicle witnessed Kanef masturbating, Rodrigues said.

Kanef was ordered out of the vehicle and as handcuffs were being placed on him, he allegedly began pulling away and the responding officers had to take him down to the ground to subdue him, Rodrigues said.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of methamphetamine.
