Man beaten, robbed outside Turlock motel

Two male suspects, one of them armed with a handgun, attacked a man and forcibly took his car outside a Turlock motel early Monday morning.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries from the attack.

The robbery was reported shortly after 5 a.m. Monday at the Travelodge at 201 W. Glenwood Ave., according to the Turlock Police Department.

The victim was in his room at the motel when he was called by two women also staying at the motel. According to the police report, the women asked the man to come to their room and as he was walking to the room with one of the women, he was attacked by the two unknown assailants.

The suspects beat the man before taking the keys to his Toyota Camry that was parked in the parking lot.

The two men fled the area in the stolen vehicle. The two women had also left the area before police arrived and are suspected of playing a role in the robbery, said police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

One male suspect was described as a Hispanic male about 35 years of age, and the other male suspect was described as white, between the ages of 30 to 40 years. The two women were described as Hispanic.
