The Turlock Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the Valley First Credit Union.

The robbery was reported around 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the credit union at 2665 Geer Rd.

Two men, both with their faces covered, entered the bank and told the three customers and five employees to get on the ground. At least one of the men was armed with a handgun and it was suspected the second man was armed as well, said Sgt. Nino Amirfar.

The suspects took one of the employees to the back of the bank, where they took an undisclosed amount of money from the safe, and fled the scene soon thereafter.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect description was limited. Both men were considered to have average builds and stood between 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall. They were both wearing hooded sweatshirts.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are reviewing surveillance footage.

Anyone with information about the robbery or anyone who noticed any suspicious activity outside or near the credit union is asked to contact Detective Brandon Bertram at 664-7323.
