A probe into a potential theft of electricity lead to the discovery of a large-scale marijuana operation in Turlock.

Agents with the Stanislaus County Drug Enforcement Agency received a tip about a power theft occurring in the 1900 block of W. Glenwood Avenue. Further investigation led to a search warrant being served at the property around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.

During a search of the buildings on the property, agents located over 3,000 small marijuana plants, a stolen shotgun and a high capacity handgun in the main house, and over 550 mature marijuana plants in two outbuildings. The estimated street value of the mature marijuana plants is over $500,000, according to the SDEA.

Calvin Anderson Agar, 29, was arrested for possession of marijuana for sales, power theft, grand theft and possession of stolen property.
