Robber strikes Turlock bank

Police are seeking clues to the identity of the man who robbed a downtown Turlock bank Thursday afternoon.
The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen leaving the West America Bank at 241 W. Main St., on foot.
Around 2 p.m. Thursday the suspect entered the bank carrying a portfolio. He approached a teller and without saying a word, he opened the portfolio and displayed a note demanding cash, Turlock Police Capt. Michael Langston said.
The teller replied with the robber’s demand and he was last seen slipping out a back door.
The suspect was described as a black man about 20 to 25 years old. He is between 6 feet and 6 feet 3 inches tall and 180 to 200 pounds. He has dark hair and a thin mustache. He was wearing a blue and white stripped dress shirt, black pants, a black baseball cap, and dark sunglasses.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Detective Justin Williamson at 664-7331 or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
