An elderly man was robbed of cash and personal items when two people forced their way into his home Thursday night.

The robbery was reported around 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the Denair Manor apartment complex at 550 Wayside Dr.

The 71-year-old man was asleep when he awoke to a knocking on his door. Believing it was his neighbors, he opened the door and was then pushed into a wall by two unknown suspects.

The suspects — a man and a woman — demanded money from the man and left after he handed it over to them, Turlock Police Lt. Steve Williams said.

The suspects were described as either white or Hispanic. The man was thought to be 30 or older and around 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He has brown hair and was wearing dark clothing.

The woman was 35 years or older and stood about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and was 250 or more pounds. She has blond hair and was wearing a dark shirt.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Turlock Police Department at 668-5550 or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
