Shooting kills one in south Turlock

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting of a man in Turlock early Sunday.

The name of the deceased has not been released as of yet.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday, deputies from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 6600 block of S. Mitchell Road after a report came in stating an individual had been shot.

The deputies responded to the scene and found a Latino male adult inside a residence with a gunshot wound. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At the home deputies also found a male teenager with non-life-threatening injuries. The injuries were not from a gunshot, according to the sheriff's office. The teenager was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The Crimes Against Persons Unit and Identification Unit arrived to take over the investigation and process the property for evidence. There is currently no suspect information or persons in custody.
