Shooting suspect on the loose

The Turlock Police Department is searching for a man who shot at two men in a pickup as they were driving in a downtown neighborhood.

The incident was reported shortly after 3 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Market Street.

Officers at the police department, which is a few blocks away from the site, heard the sounds of shots fired and headed toward the location. It was learned a black pickup truck was seen leaving the area and officers found it in the area of Lander Avenue and Columbia Street and conducted a traffic stop, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

Officers learned that the occupants of the pickup had been shot at by a Hispanic male that was on a bicycle. The suspect was last seen southbound towards A Street. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

No injuries were reported from the shooting. It’s unknown why the suspect fired at the two men.
