Two reports of shots being fired in Turlock

The Turlock Police Department had two separate calls for shots fired, one on Friday night in east Turlock and another in south Turlock on Monday. Neither incident resulted in injuries or arrests.

In the first incident, Turlock Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of E. Monte Vista Avenue and N. Quincy Road at approximately 10:58 p.m. Friday regarding shots heard from semi-automatic rifles in the area. While en route to the call Turlock Police Dispatch advised the reporting person observed two vehicles in the area speeding away.

Officers located shell casings in the 2200 block of E. Monte Vista Avenue. Officers blocked off traffic and began to locate multiple casings along E. Monte Vista Avenue.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and took over the investigation since the incident occurred in their jurisdiction.

The second incident was reported at approximately 10:32 a.m. Monday. Officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the 300 block of West Linwood Avenue. Officers located evidence of a shooting in the area. Several people were detained, but no specific person was identified as being the shooter. A weapon, located in the area and believed to be connected, was tested.

There is an ongoing investigation into this incident.
