The Turlock Police Department has arrested two 18-year-old men for an armed robbery of a Turlock convenience store and is seeking the whereabouts of a third.

Allen Jackson, 18, of Modesto has been arrested for attempted robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and felony evading. Dominic Lewis-Bation, 18, of Manteca has been arrested for robbery and conspiracy.

The two men were arrested after leading law enforcement on a high speed pursuit that ended with a crash in Modesto.

Investigators believe at least one of the suspects was involved in a robbery that occurred Sunday at the Arco gas station at 4700 N. Golden State Boulevard. Detectives are also looking at the possibility the suspects were involved in a robbery reported at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at the Quik Stop at 2406 W. Monte Vista Ave.

The robbery that led to their arrest was reported at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Arco gas station located at 2219 Lander Ave.

According to the police report, Lewis-Bation entered the business, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the robbery and the suspects had fled the scene prior to officers arriving at the store, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.

The Turlock Police Department and the California State University Stanislaus Police Department had been conducting extra patrols around various gas stations and convenience stores because of the previous robberies. While on one of the patrols a CSU Stanislaus police officer saw a vehicle pull into the parking lot of the Arco Gas Station located at 4700 N. Golden State Blvd.

The officer ran the license plate of the vehicle and it came back as a stolen car. The vehicle was followed by the officer until Turlock officers could arrive to assist.

Turlock police officers initiated a traffic stop near Whitmore Avenue and Highway 99, but the driver refused to comply and sped off from the officers. A pursuit ensued that wound its way through Ceres and Modesto. In Modesto the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a planter bed near the intersection of 9th and I streets.

Three suspects fled from the vehicle. A perimeter was set up in the area with the assistance of Modesto Police Department, Ceres Police Department and the California State University Stanislaus Police Department. Jackson and Lewis-Bation were located and taken into custody. The third suspect was not apprehended.

Through the course of this investigation it was determined Lewis-Bation was involved in the robbery that had taken place Sunday at the gas station on N. Golden State Boulevard.

The Turlock Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance on the whereabouts of the third suspect. This suspect is described as a black male adult and has a thin to medium build. The police department cautioned that anyone spotting the suspect should not approach or attempt contact him, but should call 9-1-1.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to contact Officer Hiram Duncan at 668-5550 ext. 6712.
