History of business:  When Bennie Nazar bought Strings Italian Café four years ago, he decided to revamp the restaurant and give it local flare.  As a result, the café has seen an increase in sales.

“We have seen a 20 percent increase in sales,"  said Nazar.  “It’s the quality in food and amazing service that keeps the customers coming back.”

After working in the corporate world for over 24 years, Nazar bought Strings in 2009 from previous owner Lazar Piro and remodeled the restaurant from the ground up.

“I always wanted to work for myself and not anyone else,” said Nazar.  “I’ve made sure over the years that when people come through our doors, they are greeted as family.  Our servers are trained to provide the best service to our customers and our food is made from scratch to ensure the quality in taste.”

Strings Italian Café offers a diverse menu including dishes like chicken Marsala, ravioli and their most talked about — handmade pizza.

“I believe we have the best pizza in town,” said Nazar.  “We use fresh vegetables daily and the dough is never frozen.  It’s like a little piece of Italy in your mouth.”

Business specialty: Strings Italian Café features a variety of Italian classics, as well as focusing on family-style hospitality.  Strings offers a large variety of finely made sauces and dressings that are a well-guarded secret.

“Our sauces and dressings are freshly made and never frozen,” said Nazar.  “They are always prepared to the highest standards and as a result, they are loved by all of our customers.”

Strings also offers a well-priced lunch during the weekdays and an all-inclusive catering with fully customizable menus.

“If it’s not on the menu, we will make it happen for you,” said Nazar.  “I will personally go to each table to make sure you are treated like family.  Our consistency, trust and relationships we’ve developed over the years will make us the best restaurant in Turlock.”
