History of Business: For 23 years couples from near and far have selected the Double T, a rustic event venue in Stevinson, as the special place to say their wedding vows. However, come April locals will have the rare opportunity to peruse the facility as the Double T is hosting its first open house, which is free and open to the public.

"Typically the venue is used for private parties, so it’s not very often we have events that are open to the public. You might not know about us if you haven't been to a wedding here," explained Event Specialist Arlean Azevedo.

Azevedo's parents, Tony and Carol, own the scenic property that is also commonly rented for company parties, class reunions, fundraisers, and more.

The open house will allow guests to tour the grounds that depict an old Western town. With an agricultural museum, gift shop and antique house, steam engine train, greenhouse, and other event facilities, locals can bring a picnic, take photographs, or give themselves a self-guided tour of the unique event venue.

"We're kind of a destination," explained Azevedo.

For those that do choose the Double T as a future wedding venue, the location is almost entirely inclusive. The venue includes a wedding lawn, location for the bridal party to get ready, a barn for dancing complete with a DJ and bar, security, parking, restrooms, and more. There is even a horse and carriage for the bride's entrance driven by Arlean’s father.

"We just want the bride and groom to show up with the cake and the wedding dress," laughed Azevedo. "We've got it down to a science."

For those interested in learning more about the Double T, the open house will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on April 12.
