Bob was born in Turlock at the old Emanuel Hospital to Roy and Carrie Hedstrom.  Bob attended Lowell Grammar School and graduated from Turlock High School.  He went on to attend Azusa College, and graduated from Trinity College in Chicago. He attended Trinity Seminary, California Baptist Theological Seminary, Berkeley Baptist Divinity School and California State University (master’s degree).  Bob worked at the Evangelical Free Church Turlock, First Baptist Church and Modesto First Baptist.  Bob was a member of Turlock Covenant Church.

After retirement he kept busy with rental properties.  Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife in the U.S. and many countries around the world.  Scandinavian countries were special because of his ancestors also, Israel and the Holy lands with the Biblical sites.  He also loved spending time at the cabin at Mission Springs where he served on the board.

Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hedstrom; daughter, Janine Geist; son, Lars Hedstrom; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Jensen, Jack and Jillian; brothers, Roy Hedstrom and Raymond Hedstrom; sisters, Marvel Johnson and Sandra Taylor; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and Don Bothun.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd, in Turlock.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4 at Turlock Covenant Church, 316 S. Laurel St., in Turlock.  Burial will be private at Turlock Memorial Park.
