A 66-year-old Planada woman was killed Monday afternoon in a single vehicle rollover outside of Denair, the California Highway patrol reported.

The woman was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as Obdulia Soto, 66, of Planada.

Two of the three passengers riding with Soto sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to nearby hospitals.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday in the area of Santa Fe Avenue and Barnhart Road.

Soto was driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla southbound on Santa Fe Drive at an unknown speed when for some reason she allowed the vehicle to drift onto the right shoulder.

Soto over-corrected the Toyota, causing it to veer across both lanes and strike a metal utility pole east of the road, the CHP reported.

The Toyota overturned multiple times before coming to a stop on the roof.

Soto was taken by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased, the CHP reported.

Passengers Eduardo Soto, 25, and Aaron Soto, 22, both of Planada sustained minor and moderate injuries and were taken to Emanuel Medical Center and Doctors Medical Center, respectively. The third passenger in the car, 4-year-old Katelyn Soto, was not injured in the crash.

All the individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.

Alcohol and drugs were not considered factors in the crash.

The investigation into the crash remains open.
