One person was killed in a fire Saturday night in Denair, the Denair Fire Department reported.

The name of the deceased has not been released pending next of kin notification.

The fire was in the 4100 block of East Monte Vista Avenue. It was reported at 11:38 p.m. Saturday.

The fire was in a trailer in the backyard of the main residence.

The first firefighters to arrive at the scene found the trailer completely engulfed in flames. 

The residents reported one person who lived in the trailer was missing from the scene.

“Due to the severity of the fire, firefighters were unable to make entry,” the fire department stated on their Facebook page.

The deceased individual was later recovered from the trailer.

The origin and cause is under investigation by the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit.
