A 27-year-old Turlock man was killed Sunday when his motorcycle crashed on a city street.
The deceased has been identified as Matt Garcia.
The collision was reported around 6 a.m. Sunday in the area of Nikki Ann Way and N. Tully Road.
The Turlock Police Department received multiple calls reporting the collision. One caller reported seeing an overturned motorcycle and another caller reported seeing a man in the roadway, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
Garcia was traveling southbound on N. Tully at an unknown rate of speed when, according to the police department, he was unable to maneuver around the curve and the motorcycle struck the curbline, Lewis said.
The collision threw Garcia off his bike. The first officers to arrive at the scene gave him medical care and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Garcia was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The investigation did not indicate alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. The cause was determined to be driving at an unsafe speed for the area, Lewis said.
