The public will get their first opportunity to check out the inner workings of the new Public Safety Facility when the Turlock police and fire departments host their annual open house event Oct. 26.

The open house is set from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature a barbecue, games, demonstrations and tours of the new facilities.

This will be the seventh annual open house the two departments have hosted and the first one at the new facility.

The facility has been six years in the making and cost more than $30 million. The more than 59,000 square feet houses the Turlock Police Department and the administrative branch of the Turlock Fire Department and is located at 244 N. Broadway.
