Turlock man hurt in Calaveras County crash
emergency

A Turlock man was injured Thursday afternoon when his truck went off the road along Highway 49 and overturned.

Randi Benjamin, 57, of Turlock sustained moderate injuries in the solo vehicle collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Benjamin was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck southbound on Highway 49 near Fourth Crossing Road in San Andreas around 3:15 p.m. Thursday. He was traveling at an estimated 60 miles per hour when the truck started veering off the road, the CHP reported.

The truck went off the highway and struck a dirt embankment, causing the truck to overturn.

The impact caused Benjamin to become trapped in the truck. He was extricated by fire personnel and transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto by ambulance.

The CHP said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the collision.
