Anita Winters, 76, of Newman, passed away on Wednesday, July 7. Anita was born in Haverhill, Mass. to Joseph and Evelyn Charbonneau in 1933. She lived in San Jose for many years before settling in Newman. Anita loved animals, especially her cats. Most of all, she loved children. The neighborhood kids knew her as grandma.
Anita is survived by her son, Joe Winters of Newman; siblings, Gerard Charbonneau, Judy Chestnut and Joey Charbonneau; and grandchild, Cody Winters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Winters; and sisters, Ina McCaughla and Irman Dharbonneau.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 16 at Allen Mortuary.
