Dean Threet of Turlock passed away and went to be with his cherished and beloved wife Bev on April 11.
Dean was born in Red Oak, Okla. and spent most of his younger years in Texas. He moved to California in 1952, where he met Bev. They married on Dec. 10, 1956. They had a beautiful and inspirational marriage that lasted for more than 50 years before Bev passed in 2006.
Dean was a hero to his two sons, Don and Dan Threet. He was a strong and gentle grandfather to Brett, Joe and Hanna. He was a loving father-in-law to Julie and Cheryl. Dean was a role model to all who knew him, extremely giving, and a true gentleman. Many have been comforted by his words of wisdom.
Dean supported all of his family with whatever was needed. We will always remember his smile and laugh — especially when catching “the big one” while fishing with his sons, listening to his grandchildren about their activities, or playing ball with his puppies. There are not many who live a life with such integrity and courage as Dean. He was our rock, and will be missed. But we are joyous in knowing that he is out of pain, at peace, and in the arms of the love of his life.
He is survived by his siblings, Ernie Threet and Sylvia Brown; his in-laws, Leonard Ness, Gene and Ernestine Fiechter and Karen and Corky Webb; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce T. and Claire Threet; and siblings, James, Floyd, Willie, Sue, Sam, Bill, Roger and Sandra.
A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 18 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at Turlock Memorial Park.
Remembrances may be made to: Hospice of Emmanuel, P.O. Box 819005, Turlock, CA 95381.
