Edward Mayer, Jr., 96 of Turlock, passed away in his home at Paramount Court early Sunday morning. Ed’s wife Rose (of 74 years) preceded him in death by less than four months.  Mr. Mayer was born in Gilroy and grew up in an agricultural family. He worked for many years as furniture buyer for Redlicks Furniture in San Francisco. He retired in 1981 and they moved back to Turlock to get back closer to their roots.
Family was always first for Edward. He is survived by three children, Edward (Joyce) Mayer III of Granite Bay, Rosemarie (Bill) Godbe of Vale, AZ, Thomas Ray (Jeanne) Mayer of Edmonds, WA; four siblings, Albert Mayer,  Philip Mayer, Katherine Lakovich, and Dorothy White, all of the Fresno area; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held to honor him at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 at Allen Mortuary. A private burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park. Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
