Edwin Machado Soares, 88, of Patterson, passed away Wednesday at Windsor Hampton Care Center in Stockton.
Mr. Soares was a native of Gustine and a life-time resident of Patterson. He was a self-employed farmer for 40 years and a machinist for 17 years. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of F.D.E.S., American Legion and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Soares is survived by his daughters, Darlene Curiel of Tucson, Ariz. and Barbara Partain of Patterson; brother, James Soares of King City; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Soares, who passed away in 1995.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. Interment to follow at Patterson District Cemetery in Patterson.
