Frank Charles Youngdale Jr., 87, of Turlock passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2012, with his loving family by his side. He spent his last day on our family vacation at the ocean.
He was born at Emanuel Hospital to Frank and Esther Youngdale. The family business was Youngdale's founded in 1921 and he started working there at a very young age. Frank lived his whole life in Turlock. He graduated Turlock High School in 1943 and left to serve in the Navy two weeks later. He was on U.S.S. Indiana during World War II.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty five years, Joan, from Hilmar; their two children, Gary and Debbie Youngdale; five grandchildren, Jaime Cargill, Darren Cargill, Lauren Youngdale, Bryce Youngdale, and Jasmine Youngdale; two great-grandchildren, Landyn and Brynnen Cupit. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Youngdale, and sister, Mary Lou Bonander.
Frank loved fishing with his buddies, before marriage, flying airplanes, snow skiing, water skiing, and travelling the world with his soul mate. He had two ski boats and a houseboat for eleven years. He ran his family business for forty five years. At age 63 he bought his first motor-home and joined Turlock Pleasure Seekers Club and loved every minute of his twenty two years traveling. He enjoyed coffee every morning with his good friends. He was a member of the rotary club for twenty five years. Frank will be truly missed, loved, and remembered forever in our hearts.
