James Williams, 65 of Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away peacefully Feb. 15 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. James was born in California to Raymond and Mary Williams. He attended schools in Hughson and Turlock. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He then served in the Merchant Marines, and afterward he worked on an oil rig. James also worked as a maintenance engineer for years in San Francisco.
James enjoyed camping, fishing, sailing, improving his culinary skills and being with family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling the world.
James is survived by his sisters, Hazel Simmons of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Lillian Ellison of North Pole, Alaska, Jeannie Mercer of Ceres, Judy Myers of Hilmar, Ronda Holden of Merced and Vonda Stephens of Salado; and brother, Ben Smart of Columbia. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
