Katherine Gonsalves Costa, 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30 surrounded by her family and close friends. Katherine was born on Feb. 4, 1934 in Hawaii. She came to California n 1962, where she settled into the Bay Area and raised her family. She worked 35 years owning and operating small family grocery stores. Katherine moved to Turlock in 1998. She was loved and admired by her family and friends. The loss is great but the memories and impact she had on our lives will live in us and be passed on to others. We love you and miss you so much already, but know that you will forever be with the angels.
She is survived by her two sons, Dennis B. Costa of Turlock and Chuck Costa of Gautier, Mich.; sister, Dale Matthews of Folsom; grandchildren, Jason Costa, Stephanie Bettencourt, Lindsay Massengale, Christine Costa, Dennis Costa II, Scott Massengale, Kristen Costa and Cassidy Costa; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Gonsalves; mother, Alice F. Gonsalves; brother, Anthony Gonsalves; sister, Diane Gonsalves; and daughter, Denise Ann Costa.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 9 at Whitehurst, Norton, & Dias Funeral Service.
