Sublimity, OR-   Lois Lilybelle Johnson, longest, living native of Turlock, recognized during Turlock’s 2008 Centennial, passed away on February 23, 2013 at the home of Janet, her daughter and Ralph Todd. 
Lois was born at 220 Vermont St., in Turlock and attended local schools.  Her husband, Lester W. was a teacher of electronics at Turlock High School for 20 years until his death in 1973.
The children are Bill Johnson of Turlock, CA and Janet Joy Todd of Sublimity. OR.
The Grand children are Kim Parreira of Los Banos, CA and Shari Sterling of Turlock, CA,  Jason Boyd of Seaside, OR and Jered Boyd of Olympia, WA.
The Great Grand children are Erin and Eric Parreira, Brittney and Nicole Sterling, Emily, Luke, Andrew, Noah, Grace, Sophie, Lucy, Katie, and Nathan Boyd and Ashton and Briana Boyd.
Lois was an active community citizen, volunteering for  American Cancer Society, Girl Scouts, Elementary School Reading Programs, Angels on Wheels, and Hospital Gift Shop.  She also enjoyed Steppin Pards square dancers, bridge with friends, member of First United Methodist Church, Naomi and Ruth Circles, Carillon Bell Ensemble, P.E.O.  BY chapter, and Reading Club.  She traveled extensively in Europe, and took several cruises.
Lois lived on West Main for 70 yrs., Samaritan Village for 8 yrs. in
Hughson,CA and   Sublimity, OR in 2012 and was a member of the Stayton
United Methodist Church and P.E.O. FW chapter in Stayton, OR.  Lois’ advice for life:” Eat right, exercise, and love somebody!”  Advice for the younger generations:  “Listen to your parents!”
Celebration of Life services to be held Saturday, March 9, 2013, 3:00 pm at First Methodist Church, 1660 Arbor Way, Turlock, CA Private family burial at Turlock Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Westside Ministries, Turlock High School, and United Methodist Women.
