Mia Rashelle Cedres
Nov. 5, 1967 Feb. 2, 2013
c6934 1

Affectionately known as “Bitty” was born to Leonard & Alice Wilson November 5, 1967.   She passed away February 2, 2013 in Turlock California at the age of 45.
Mia graduated from St Anthony’s Catholic Elementary School and from Atwater High School in 1986, after graduation Mia moved to Maryland where she studied cosmetology.
She returned to Merced, CA, where she met and married Raymond Cedres and both joined the United States Army.  They had one daughter, Ciara Cree born  5/31/1993, the three traveled to Germany, while in Germany their son Devon Jordan-Alexander was conceived and later born at Travis Air Force Base  11/5/1994.  Shortly after they separated and remained close friends. She then met Kevin Del Nero in 1995, who was with her until her passing.
Mia had a strong love for animals, was an avid dancer, always participating in dance activities through the Atwater High School Black Student Union Association, as well as showing off dance moves & steps to her family and friends.  Even in Mia’s last years she still would convince family and friends that she could still “cut the rug.”  This would contribute to her desire to be different and the center of attention, with her unique hairstyles, and her fashionable “Prince” inspired attire and makeup, along with her poised walk. It is a mystery why Mia wasn’t featured on Project Run-Way. Because we all know she would have won.
Mia is preceded in death by her father and grandparents. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, Kevin Del Nero, her two children Ciara & Devon, her mother Alice Wilson, her sister Sandra Smith (David), and two brothers Douglas G Patterson and Lance Patterson (Phyllis) and a host of family and friends. Funeral service will be held at Turlock Funeral Home 425 N. Soderquist Rd. on Friday February 15, 2013, 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
