Jessica's House provides support to shaken car accident victim

Dear Editor,

I am not sure who to address this letter to. My family would like to highlight and publicly thank a local agency for their above-and-beyond service to our family.

On the afternoon of May 11, 2016, my wife and 9 year old daughter were driving westbound on E. Main Street when a vehicle pulled out in front of them. The accident occurred at the intersection directly in front of Jessica’s House, which is located on the corner of E. Main Street and Bonita Avenue. Thankfully there were no major injuries, though the whole ordeal was very upsetting to our 9 year old daughter.

I arrived shortly after the accident occurred to find the staff at Jessica’s House with my wife. The staff went out of their way to assist in any way possible. I also learned from my wife that the staff took our daughter inside due to her being shaken and upset. I cannot express how appreciative my wife and I are for the true caring generosity that was expressed by the staff. Our daughter felt welcomed and is also very appreciative. Even today, she still talks about how nice they were and holds the blue teddy bear they provided to her for comfort.

Sadly, in the pressures of the “business” of life, the generosity of others often goes unnoticed, or they may not be recognized. With this being said, please bring awareness to all that Jessica’s House provides to our community, and please highlight the overwhelming generosity and act of kindness they displayed to my family on this day.
