Francisco Madrigal, 21, out of the Delhi Boxing Club, earned first place in the middleweight division at the 10th Annual Manuel Torrez International Boxing Classic, which was held at Tulare West High School Saturday and Sunday.

Having earned a victory a week prior, Madrigal brought his October win total to three and continued a four-match win streak as he dispatched Arturo Diaz and Jake Demp over the course of the two day tournament.

Madrigal won both bouts via majority decision having knocked down Diaz twice in the third round on Saturday before giving Demp two standing eight counts in the third round on Sunday. Madrigal is now 9-1 in his amateur career.
