Michael Hoyt, the 49-year-old Turlock man facing a homicide charge related to a road rage incident, pled not guilty at his arraignment in Stanislaus County Superior Court Wednesday.
Hoyt is facing a homicide charge in the wake of Ken Winter’s death. The Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office is alleging Hoyt brutally beat the 67-year-old Hilmar man, resulting in fatal injuries, because he was angry over a traffic incident.
Hoyt’s defense attorney, Frank Carson, requested medical attention for his client during Wednesday’s hearing for injuries he said Hoyt sustained during the confrontation.
He also requested a bail hearing for Feb. 26 to try and reduce Hoyt’s bail. Hoyt is currently being held at the Stanislaus County Jail in lieu of a $2 million bail.
