Emanuel Medical Center had a brief disruption Thursday morning when a bomb threat was called in to the hospital.

The unknown caller claimed there was a bomb at the hospital, but a search by the Turlock Police Department came up empty.

During the investigation the hospital was on lockdown and initiated other safety procedures.

“Earlier today, local law enforcement assisted the hospital in investigating a possible threat and we activated additional security measures to ensure the safety of our employees, patients and their families,” said Emanuel Medical Center spokesperson Pennie Rorex in an emailed statement. “No credible threat was found and normal operations have resumed. We thank the Turlock Police Department for its prompt response and support.”
