The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department arrested a Denair man on Wednesday on allegations he raped a woman during a house party.
The suspect was identified as Jesus Medina, 23, of Denair. He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of rape by force or fear and one count of sodomy. Additionally, Medina was charged with operating a hybrid marijuana grow at a residence in the 3100 block of Merced Avenue in Denair, said sheriff spokesman Sgt. Luke Schwartz.
The victim is a 20-year-old woman who was an acquaintance of Medina's, Schwartz said.
The alleged rape happened at a party on Aug. 19.
During the service of a search warrant at the Merced Avenue property sheriff's deputies found the marijuana grow operations, along with a large amount of cash and ammunition, Schwartz said.
Medina was taken into custody on Wednesday without incident and booked into Stanislaus County Jail. He remains in custody in lieu of a $325,000 bail.
