A Turlock man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after causing a collision that injured one person.

Jose Cortes, 46, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and a DUI causing injury, according to the Turlock Police Department.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Soderquist and Fulkerth roads.

According to the police repot, Cortes drove his vehicle into another vehicle that had stopped for traffic. The driver of the other vehicle was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with head pain, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.

 The investigating officer believed Cortes was showing signs of being intoxicated and after a preliminary investigation placed him under arrest.
