The Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force, along with Turlock Police officers, recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested two men for auto theft after spotting the vehicle being driven in Turlock on March 17.

The officers with StanCATT spotted a Honda Accord being driven on Berkeley Avenue that had been reported stolen out of Ceres the day before. The officers contacted the Turlock Police Department and requested them to have marked units perform a traffic stop on the vehicle.

In the meantime, the StanCATT officers continued to follow the vehicle as it drove into the Delhi area.

Turlock officers made a stop on the vehicle at a gas station at Shanks and Latteau roads.

Jose Rosas Vazquez, 19, of Turlock and Tony Antonio Perez, 31, described as a transient, were arrested for auto theft and possession of a stolen automobile. Vasquez was also served with a felony warrant out of Stanislaus County for spousal abuse.
