A bicyclist riding on the wrong side of the road was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening that then drove away from the scene.

The hit and run was reported at 6:29 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of East Avenue.

The victim was struck by a dark gray sports utility vehicle and sustained non-life threatening injuries, Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital.

The SUV fled the scene. Police officers conducted a search of the area, but the vehicle was not found.
