Zachary Johnson

The inmate who escaped from the John Latoracca Correctional Facility in El Nido on Valentine's Day is back behind bars, as is his wife and girlfriend.
Zachary William Johnson, 32, of Morgan Hill escaped by digging a hole in the ceiling above the shower facility up to the roof. He then placed a blanket over the razor wire fence and jumped to freedom.
According to the Merced County Sheriff's Department, Johnson got a taxi somewhere near the area and rode into Los Banos.
His girlfriend Jeanette Segovia, 40, of Los Banos and his wife Dawn Hathaway, 25, of San Jose aided in his escape by sending him money, according to the sheriff's department.
Johnson got into a second cab in Los Banos and was on his way to San Jose when authorities caught up with him.
The taxi was pulled over near Highways 152 and 33. The taxi driver got out of the vehicle and Johnson jumped behind the wheel and sped off.
A high speed pursuit ensued with multiple law enforcement agencies joining the chase.
A spike strip brought the chase to an end. Johnson attempted to hide in a poultry barn, but was soon apprehended.
Johnson was charged with carjacking, escape, and possession of methamphetamine. He was previously charged with several counts of felony evading, felony hit and run, stalking, narcotics violations and resisting arrest.
Sergovia and Hathaway were each charged with aiding and abetting.
