The Turlock Police Department is seeking the whereabouts of a janitor that robbed a bank he had been hired to clean.

Investigators have identified Clinton Russell Holmes, 35, as the suspected bank robber of the Tri Counties Bank, located inside the Raley’s store at 2900 Geer Road.

Holmes entered the bank around 9 a.m. and asked a teller to move toward the back of the business. In the back Holmes told the teller he was robbing the bank and to hand over the money. No weapon was seen during the exchange, but Holmes did insinuate he had one, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.

Holmes fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.

It wasn’t difficult for detectives to identify Holmes as the suspect, because he is known to the bank employees. He had been hired by a janitorial service that is responsible for cleaning the bank. Holmes did not wear a mask during the robbery. It’s unknown at this time how long he had been employed with the service.

The police department is seeking Holmes’ whereabouts, but advises the public to not approach him if he is spotted. Anyone spotting Holmes should call 911.

Anyone with information on Holmes’ whereabouts or additional information about the bank robbery is asked to contact Detective Brandon Bertram at 668-5550 ext. 6623.
