Turlock Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened in the parking lot of Monte Vista Crossings during the daytime hours.

The victim was unharmed in the confrontation.

The robbery was reported at 5:40 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Chili’s restaurant at 2801 Countryside Dr.

The victim told the police he was walking to his car when he was approached by a Hispanic male.

The suspect demanded property from inside the victim’s car, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

The victim believed the suspect was pointing a gun at him, but kept it concealed under his sweatshirt.

The victim refused to unlock his car and the suspect used an unknown device to remove the lock, Lewis said.

The suspect took speakers and a CD player from the car and was last seen fleeing the area in a blue Chrysler 300.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the police department at 668-5550.
