A 10-year-old boy was returned safely to his grandparents and his mother is facing a kidnapping charge after police found the child hidden in her home.

The 10-year-old was reported missing around 5:30 p.m. Monday by his grandparents, who have full custody of the child, Turlock Police Lt. Nino Amirfar said.

The grandparents started to worry about the boy’s whereabouts when he didn’t return home from school.

Investigators found out the boy’s mother, 29-year-old Tiana Stallworth, had been in contact with the boy, even though it was a violation of court orders.

Officers attempted to make contacted with Stallworth at her Turlock residence, but got no response.

Investigators had evidence both Stallworth and the child were inside the home and they forced the door open. Both Stallworth and the child were located inside.

Stallworth was taken into custody around 6:40 p.m. She was booked into jail on charges of kidnapping and parental abduction.

Anyone who may have witnessed the abduction or has any other information is asked to contact Turlock Police Department Detective Francisco Navarro at 664-7319.
