The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the Airport District in Modesto and is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest.

A deceased male was found about 9:35 p.m. Thursday in the area of Mono Drive and Mono Park in Modesto. The man was found unresponsive in a front yard of a home and pronounced dead at the scene.

The male victim had been shot, according to sheriff spokesman Sgt. Anthony Bejaran.

The victim has not been identified and an autopsy has been scheduled for today.

 Homicide detectives are looking for a person of interest identified as Kraig Palacio, 20.
