The man at the center of a Sunday shooting in Keyes has prompted the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department to begin a manhunt.

A woman sustained non-life threatening injuries after being wounded by a shotgun blast in the 4100 block of Anna Avenue. The Sheriff’s Department identified the shooter as Kenneth Dale, 42. He was left seen running away from the scene with a shotgun and machete in hands.

The woman was treated at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of wounds.

Dale was reportedly living in a shed in the yard of a property along Anna Avenue. Deputies set up a perimeter and searched by ground, airplane and drone but Dale managed to escape capture.

Deputies were informed by neighbors that the suspect had physically assaulted a woman last week and that he had been beat up himself.
