A search warrant issued for a home in the 100 block of G Street in Turlock led to the arrest of three people, the recovery of a stolen handgun, and the seizure of various narcotics.

The search warrant was served shortly before noon Thursday by the Turlock Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team. TPD’s detectives and agents with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency were also at the scene, said police spokesman Sgt. Nino Amirfar.

As the team arrived at the residence, one suspect ran from the home, tossing a handgun down in the process, Amirfar said.

The suspect was captured a short distance away. The handgun was recovered and was found to be a stolen .40-caliber handgun, Amirfar said.

Once inside the home investigators found various quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana — all packaged for sale.

Additional packaging materials and a small marijuana grow operation were also found in the residence.

Arrested were Elfego Govea Mendoza, 26, city of residence unknown; Jesus DeLaMadrid Cardenas, 37, city of residence unknown; and Rosemarie Burns, 46, of Turlock.

Mendoza was charged with possession and sales of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana, and possession of a stolen handgun, armed while in commission of a felony, and illegal cultivation.

Cardenas was charged with possession and sales of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana, as well as illegal cultivation.

Burns was arrested for unrelated felony warrants.
