Trespassing call leads to arrest for resisting

A report of someone possibly trespassing at a vacant home in Turlock resulted in the arrest of a man who was found in possession of pepper spray.

Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday the Turlock Police Department received a call about a trespasser at a vacant home in the 500 block of N. Thor Street.

When officers arrived they saw a man climb out of a back window and take off running, according to the police report.

Officers chased after the man and found him hiding behind a Dumpster in the area.

The suspect was identified as John Paul Gonzalez, 36.

Gonzalez was illegally in possession of pepper spray. He was arrested for resisting arrest and being a felon in possession of pepper spray.
