A Turlock man visiting San Francisco with friends was stabbed Saturday night about a block from his hotel.
The 20-year-old man sustained serious injuries in the attack, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
The victim, whose name was not released, was staying with friends at a San Francisco hotel in the 600 block of Polk Street.
At some point in the night, the 20-year-old separated from his friends and when his absence was noticed they went looking for him, said SFPD Officer Wilson Ng.
The friends didn’t have to look far. They found the 20-year-old around 2 a.m. hunched over on the sidewalk near the intersection of Polk and Turk streets.
The victim had been stabbed in the back and his arm.
His friends took him back to the hotel room and then called the police, Ng said.
Investigators have not obtained any suspect information from the victim at this time. It did not appear that he had been robbed, Ng said.
