crime-scene-tape

A collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck Saturday night in Turlock resulted in the death of a local man, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The deceased was identified by the police department as Michael Beede, 39, of Turlock.

The fatal collision happened just after 6 p.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Fulkerth Road.

A Chevrolet pickup was traveling east on Fulkerth Road and was turning left onto the Highway 99 entrance when a motorcycle traveling west on Fulkerth struck the back end of the truck, the police department reported.

The impact caused Beede to be ejected from the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet.

The first officers began emergency first aid on Beede. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to the injuries he received as a result of the collision.

The 39-year-old Modesto man driving the Chevrolet was not injured in the collision.

Turlock Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

As M.A.I.T. is still in the early stages of this investigation, they have not yet determined fault or cause, however, it does appear that speed may have been a factor in this incident, the police department reported.
