The Turlock Police Department is investigating two drive-by shootings reported over the weekend that appear to be unrelated to one another.

No one was injured in either incident.

The first incident was reported at 9:45 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Jessica Street. According to the police report, a suspect in a blue Chevy Avalanche stopped at the corner near the house and fired three shots at an individual standing outside the residence.

Turlock Police Sgt. Stephen Webb said three shell casings were recovered from the scene.

The second incident was reported around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of Windrose Drive.

Webb said a party had been going on at the residence and police officers had been dispatched there earlier in the night for a report of a disturbance, but that the individuals causing the disturbance had left before the officers arrived.

Later a gold Chevy pickup, possibly a Silverado, drove by the house and fired several rounds, striking a vehicle and the house, Webb said.

Witnesses described the shooter as a light-skinned Hispanic male in his early 20s.

It is believed the shooting was tied to the earlier disturbance, Webb said.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the Turlock Police Department at 668-5550.
