A 38-year-old woman is in stable condition days after she was struck by a car while crossing the street Saturday night.
The woman did lose consciousness immediately after the collision and was medi-flighted to a local hospital, but is now out of danger, Turlock Police Lt. Jeff Lopes said.
The woman was crossing at N. Palm Street and E. Hawkeye Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, when she was hit by a Chevy Monte Carlo that was making a left turn and didn’t see her, Lopes said.
The impact tossed the woman up onto the windshield and knocked her out, Lopes said. After regaining consciousness at the hospital, the woman had no memory of the accident, Lopes said.
The driver of the Monte Carlo, a 43-year-old woman, was traveling at 25 to 30 mph when the collision occurred, Lopes said. No citations were issued.
