A blaze roared through a vacant Foster Farms chicken coop in Delhi Monday, sending one Merced County firefighter to the hospital.
The fire fighter was said to have general weakness at the scene.
The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m. Monday at 14519 Collier Rd. in Delhi.
The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious and is under investigation, according to Cal Fire.
The commercial chicken coop was vacated and no animals were harmed from the fire.
The fire was brought under control after an estimated 30 minutes and was kept from spreading to a nearby haystack. The damage was estimated at $2,000.
